My family has been ranting and raving about the brand new coffee shop that just came to their town of Fort Dodge, Iowa.  They honestly just told me, "I can't believe you don't have a Scooter's Coffee!".  Well, they can't say that anymore because Rochester is getting one.

According to Jeff Kiger at the Post Bulletin, Scooter's Coffee will be opening up a new shop with a drive-thru in the old Daube's location on South Broadway.

I already know the next two things you are going to say: 1)  What is Scooter's Coffee? and 2) Don't we have enough coffee shops in Rochester?  Because I already asked those questions and did some research, I've got your answers for you.

  1. What is Scooter's Coffee?  According to their website, they state that they started in 1998 in Bellevue, Nebraska with their first drive-thru coffeehouse.  The company was founded by Don and Linda Eckles and their keys to success are "find a great location and stay committed to high-quality drinks, speed of service, and a BIG smile.".  You can learn a little bit more about Scooter's Coffee on their Facebook page and website.
  2. Don't we have enough coffee shops in Rochester?  The answer is "no".  We could never have enough coffee shops in Rochester.  Well, if we ever have as many coffee shops as banks, then maybe we have a problem.  Actually, we may be getting close to that.  I guess I now know what I'll be researching the rest of the day.

If you missed it, I had a story recently where I asked thousands of people 'What is the best coffee shop in Rochester?". You can find that Top 5 list here.
