This is the summer where we seem to have quite the list going for events and activities that are canceled due to Covid-19.  A local berry farm just added another one to the list.

Firefly Berries is a great family-owned farm that has you-pick strawberry patches in NE Rochester.  They shared an update about their summer plans on their Facebook page:

From the very beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have been discussing how our 2020 strawberry season might look. We've looked into so many options, discussed the pros and cons, and even asked the kids to weigh in on the decision (as they are 4/6 of our workforce). And we have finally made a decision. It is with a heavy heart, that I let you know we will NOT be open for you pick strawberries this summer. - Firefly Berries Facebook Page

Although you won't be able to create the memory of picking strawberries with your kids this summer, there is some good news.  Berries can be purchased online when they are available and can be picked up curbside.

As you support local, remember to support The Sanner Family and the many other families that provide local produce.  You can find a list of all the local businesses and other deals in our area here.
