The Interchange Wine Bar and Bistro in Albert Lea, facing fines of $3,000/day after a judgment issued this week in Freeborn County, is open and advertising dine-in service, to-go orders, and delivery.

A phone call to the business this afternoon did confirm the business was open for business until 3pm today.

Yesterday it was reported by KROC News in Rochester that, a Freeborn County judge "found the owners of The Interchange in Albert Lea in contempt of court for willfully violating a temporary restraining order issued by the court on December 23rd. The order issued today imposed the daily $3000 fine for each day the business is open for indoor dining in violation of the governor's pandemic order effective today. The judge also noted the governor has now modified the order to allow limited indoor dining and drinking beginning Monday."

News of The Interchange being open today for business got a mostly positive response on its social media page.

Governor Walz on Wednesday addressed the media and announced that indoor dining restrictions would be eased and allow for 50% capacity for indoor dining, as well as some bartop service.
