The Stewartville Tigers built a big lead in the first half but had to hold off a second-half push for Dover-Eyota to secure a 74-57 win Saturday night in Stewartville.

The Eagles held an early 18-11 lead in the first half after Dover-Eyota created turnovers and worked well in transition. Brady Williams was great putting in 11 points in the first half to lead the Eagles. Stewartville started to find its groove quickly after the early lead for Dover-Eyota and was led by Will Tschetter's three 3's in the first half to help push the Tigers back into the game and carried a 43-27 lead into the break.

Dover-Eyota had a great start to the second half, trimming the Tigers lead down to five at 45-40. Williams, Blake Blattner and Jamison Dahl were key for the Eagles to make their second-half push, but the Tigers had an answer.

Tschetter finished with 40 points and 9 rebounds for the Tigers and was crucial to their offense by getting to the free-throw line and putting a lot of stress on the Eagles defense in the second half.

Stewartville push their lead back to double digits, but the Williams connected on a three to cut the lead down to eight, but the next possession Tschetter connected on a three, was fouled, and completed the four-point play to push the lead back to 12 and securing the win for the Tigers, 74-57.

Williams finished with 25 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles, while Dahl and Blattner each finished with 10. Tschetter finished with 40 to pace the Tigers.

Stewartville moved to 16-4 with the win while Dover-Eyota fell to 9-10.
