Winona Woman Admits Intentionally Harming Her Baby
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Winona County woman has worked out a plea agreement with prosecutors in St. Paul in a child endangerment case. 25-year-old Megan Kafer entered a guilty plea to a felony count of child endangerment this week in Ramsey County Court and is scheduled to be sentenced in May.
She was charged last November after a video surveillance system set up in a hospital room at Children's Hospital in St. Paul recorded her injecting laxative from a syringe into her then 9-month old baby’s feeding tube. The criminal complaint indicated the infant had been admitted to the hospital because of his inability to gain weight and the hospital staff suspected Kafer was to blame.
She is scheduled to be sentenced in early May.
