Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man says he was out for a late-night run over the weekend when he was stabbed in the back by an unknown assailant.

The 28-year-old says he was jogging in the area of 4th St and 16th Ave SE around 2:00 AM Sunday when he stopped to take a drink of water. As he was drinking, the man says he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his back.

The man says the person who had come up from behind him then took a bag he had over his shoulder that contained some money and other items.

The man walked to the nearby Olmsted Medical Center hospital for treatment and called 911. He was later transferred to St Marys Hospital because the stab wound was near his spine and he needed more care.

The man told police he had no idea who his attacker was.
